Living My Dream
I’ve always wanted to be a fashion designer ever since I was a third grader growing up in New Jersey. I went to college for it but after I graduated in 2000, I didn’t really know how to get my career going. My ultimate dream has always been to have my own company but I had no idea what to do. And what makes it worse is that I was surrounded by people who weren’t very supportive of my dream because it was “outside the box”. They didn’t believe I could do it and unfortunately I started to believe it too. I kept getting caught up in all the things that I needed and all the things I didn’t have instead of looking at all the things that I was blessed with and had accumulated over the years. Yes I said years! I’ve made several attempts at starting my career over the years but every time I got started, it seemed like something would go wrong or some major problem would come up and I would get discouraged and stop trying. I thought it was because I was doing something wrong or I didn’t know what I was doing and I started questioning if this was really my purpose. But no matter how many times I would question it, I always came back to the same conclusion, “This is exactly what I’m supposed to be doing”.
I’ve always been a believer in Christ and I’ve had several long talks with the Lord, believe me, but it wasn’t until recently that I really started to study the Word for myself and utilizing the Law Of Attraction, I began to realize that everything that was going “wrong” when I was trying to go after my dream was supposed to happen. Yes I said it was supposed to happen! I say that because God has given each and every single one of us a dream in our hearts and He also has a plan for us to accomplish it, but the enemy, “the devil”, doesn’t want it to happen so he brings trouble across our path to discourage us and cause us to want to quit and just give up. That’s his job. But our job is to keep pushing forward no matter what the enemy tries to bring our way. He’s only doing this because he knows that success is right around the corner.
I love fashion and I love creating things. I went to college for fashion design and I loved the experience, but I can honestly say I’ve learned more on my own outside of school than I did when I was in school. I taught myself how to draw which helped me to create my rose logo. I also taught myself Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop which is what I use to do all of my designing. Now don’t think I’m saying this to brag because I’m not, I’m only saying this to give you inspiration in case you feel like there’s something you want to do but you don’t have anyone to help you or whatever it is that may be stopping you. Start right where you are with whatever you have. It took me a long time to learn this but now that I know, I want to share it with everyone.
So this is the introduction to Cynthia Wells as a lifestyle brand. My mission is to provide high quality, timeless designs to fashion conscious women of the world.
